The Story Behind Our Mango + Chile Caramel (A Father's Day Favorite)

The Story Behind Our Mango + Chile Caramel (A Father's Day Favorite)

This caramel flavor feels a little more personal to me than most. Not because I grew up making anything like it, since I definitely didn't, but because my dad is the reason it exists.

He was a true foodie at heart, the kind of person who loved experimenting with flavor combinations that surprised you a little and kept you coming back for another bite.

Where the Idea Came From

Fresh mango with a little Tajín sprinkled on top is one of my favorite snacks. One evening, after a long day in the kitchen, my dad and I were sitting at the work table while I ate some mango and chile. He looked over and said, "We should make a Mango + Chile caramel."

That was the moment it clicked. Unlike many flavors I've worked on over the years, this one came together quickly, almost like it was meant to happen. It's no surprise that it still makes me think of him every time I make a batch.

What Makes It Special

Soft, buttery caramel made with real mango puree and just enough chile warmth to keep things interesting. It's a little brighter and a little more unexpected than my classic flavors, and it's become one people ask for by name.

It's part of my Seasonal Caramels collection, made in small batches here in Paso Robles, California, the same way I make everything else.

A Nice Fit for Father's Day

If you're looking for Father's Day gifts, Mango + Chile is a hit, especially with dads who like something a little bolder than a classic sweet. It also works well for summer dinner parties, beach weekends, or just keeping a bag tucked away in your own kitchen drawer.

If you'd rather send a mix of flavors, my Gift Collection makes it easy to include this one alongside my Sea Salt Caramels or Vanilla + Toasted Almond Caramels.

Try It While It's Around

This one is a seasonal flavor, so it won't stick around all year. If you've been meaning to try it, or you know a dad who would, now's a good time.
